Overview of role:
This is a hybrid role with 2 main duties, General Industrial Warehouse/DIY Assistant, and, Laptop Refurbishment Assistant
Duties that fall under "General Industrial Warehouse/DIY Assistant" include:
* Odd jobs, unpacking pallets, assembling shelfs/racking units & flat packs, moving boxes, stock counts, cleaning up, small "DIY"-like tasks such as drilling hooks & mounts into walls, etc.
Duties that fall under "Laptop Refurbishment Assistant" include:
* Pre-testing, post-testing, cosmetic renewal, misc repair tasks, and keyboard removals of a diverse range of laptops models (HP, Dell, Acer, Asus, Lenovo, etc) in a systemized manner. Other tasks will include filling in the gaps of other areas in the refurbishment cycle that occasionally arise, such as bulk screen testing, bulk SSD testing.
How the two come together:
As we're a small but rapidly growing company, we find ourself needing to be regularly expanding, which typically involves building/assembling new shelfing units, racking, moving things around, and much more. This would be one part of your role. Then, when there are no such 'DIY'-like things to do, you would fall back to filling-in as a Laptop Refurbishment Assistant where needed, which is the core of the business.
About the role's flexible nature:
We're looking for someone able to work on a flexible notice, particularly when people are away/ill, or we have increased work load and require an extra hand.
Flexible Zero-Hour working arrangement, perfect for those:
* In full-time education
* Looking for flexible work
* Wanting to do a couple of extra hours alongside current job.
Exact hours will depend on the company's workload and staff absence. You can provide us with your availability for a given week or month, we provide you with ours, and then we take a look at where there is overlap and agree to those matching days. There is no obligation to take up the days we offer. We aim to work on a mutual benefit basis where both parties have aligned interests. Some weeks there may be no or little work, other weeks there might be much more. Sometimes we may ask if you can come in a week in advance, other times we may ask if you can come in same-day on short notice (e.g: due to someone being ill). You under no obligation to come in when we asked on short notice.
You may be able to come in for as little as a few hours per week, all the up to full days back-to-back, there is total flexibility.
This is a perfect opportunity for those looking to get their foot through the door and start working around computers and technology for the first time.

Job pay ranges (based on age):
Aged 21 and over : Starting @ £13.30/hr
Aged 18 to 20 : Starting @ £11.00/hr
Aged under 18 : Starting @ £8.50/hr

Main Duties will include:

* Cleaning/detailing/cosmetically grading laptops
* OS setup / Windows Updates
* Plastic casing repairs
* Cosmetic laptop refurbishment(Non-technical: Spray, paint, wrap)

o Involving craft knives, spray paints, glues, heat-guns, sanding paper, masking tape, solvents & cleaning chemicals, mouldings, etc.
* Updating and configuring BIOS
* Packaging and dispatching orders
* General Workshop/Warehouse duties, maintenance and cleaning.
Person Specification
Knowledge and expertise
* Good with basic DIY hands tools (screwdrivers/drills, rubber mallets, etc)
* Good with hands and putting flat-pack units/racking together
* Good with heavy lifting and moving things around
* Confidence in handling electronic devices.
* A good practical knowledge of current & older hardware and technology.
* The ability to work happily across a diverse range of laptop manufacturers.
* Good hand skills; competent in the use of hand and workshop tools.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, completing tasks in a highly optimized & time-efficient manner.
* Ability to adapt, take on new advice/mentorship, remain highly coachable and ready to grow and improve in all areas.
