Overview
Electrician - Ferndown, BH22 9JG, United Kingdom. You will carry out electrical installations in domestic dwellings, support the Dorset electrical team, and work with technology and IT systems (electronic handheld device). You will work primarily alone but have support from regional supervisors, attend toolbox talks for training, and be provided with a company van and a full UK driving licence.
You may visit multiple locations in a day and will be an ambassador with a can-do attitude and a focus on right-first-time service. You will provide high-quality service to customers and be the friendly face of Aster.
Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical installations in domestic dwellings and perform inspection and testing to British standards on a set programme.
* Record progress and complete necessary documentation in hard and electronic files.
* Ensure all works are performed in line with safety regulations and maintain a strong safety focus.
* Work with customers in their homes, delivering excellent customer service and resolving issues calmly.
* Liaise with internal colleagues to ensure works are completed and ongoing works are logged appropriately.
* Be flexible to participate in an out-of-hours standby rota within the region and work autonomously or as part of a team as required.
* Maintain effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified electrician with AM2 qualification or equivalent and a 2391 (City & Guilds) or equivalent, with demonstrable experience in domestic electrical installations.
* Experience carrying out inspection and testing to British standards and completing required records.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to safety in all works.
* Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills; ability to work in customers' homes and keep calm in challenging situations.
* Good communication skills and ability to liaise with internal teams; flexible approach to work and ability to participate in standby rota.
* Willingness to meet face-fit requirements and hold a full, manual UK driving licence; willing to undertake a basic DBS check if successful.
* Right to work in the UK prior to commencement of employment.
