This role has a starting salary of £50,047 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. This is a 12-month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity.

Weoperatea policy ofhybrid working, which means you will have the option to spend part of your weekworking from homewhilst ensuring a regular presence is maintained in the office.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Leadership Office for a Business Manager to support the Chief Executive. We currently have an Interim Chief Executive, with our permanent Chief Executive due to join us in the summer.
Your focus will be on providing exemplary support to the Chief Executive and be a direct link between theCorporate Leadership Team, Cabinet and wider democratic servicesputting you at the very heart of the Council. You willensure the Chief Executive is well briefed for all meetings and up to speed withthe latestdevelopments across the organisation. You will be working alongside a team of Business Managers in the Leadership Office whose remit cut across the whole organisation.
You shouldpossessstrong inter-personal skills and beconfident inengaging with senior officers. Youwillbe requiredto lead on supporting the Corporate Leadership Team meetings- managing the forward plan of business, co-ordinating meeting papers, taking notes and capturing actions.You will play an active role in supporting otherlarge-scale eventsacross the organisation, developingagendasand managing forward plans in line withthe Council's strategicpriorities.
It's a fast paced and varied role with rarely a dull moment! To excel in this role, you will need strong time management and prioritisation skills, the ability to multi-task and be effective in relationship building and negotiation. Your ability to look to the horizon, pre-empt needs, meet challenges with appropriate solutions and keep the lines of communication open will be key to your success. You will have line management responsibility for a small team of Executive Support Officers.

* Experience of working in a highly complex and challenging environment working with senior stakeholders in a diligent, trustworthy way, and with a commitment to delivering high quality outputs
* Excellent written communication and strong interpersonal skills
* Programme and project management experience
* Good knowledge and confidence in using IT systems, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams including managing complex hybrid meetings
