The SEN TA will deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions, support access to the curriculum, assist with sensory and communication programmes and contribute to personalised learning plans. This SEN TA role commences January 2026, with induction and handover planned in the weeks before January 2026 to ensure a smooth start. Position details Role: SEN TA — Newham Start date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent / Part-Time or Full-Time (school dependent) About the role As SEN TA you will work with the SENCo and class teams in Newham to implement targeted programmes, prepare adapted resources and monitor pupil progress. The SEN TA will support pupils during lessons, help facilitate small-group social skills work and assist with routines, supporting independence and positive behaviour. The Newham school provides supportive training so the SEN TA can develop professionally. Key responsibilities Deliver planned interventions, record progress and help evaluate their impact. Support pupils in-class to access differentiated tasks and to practise key skills. Assist with personal care, sensory breaks or communication plans where required across Newham. Liaise with therapists and parents under the SENCo’s guidance and contribute to review meetings. Maintain accurate records and contribute to transition planning for pupils moving year groups. Person specification Prior experience working with children with SEND and confidence delivering interventions as a SEN TA. Patient, adaptable and able to work collaboratively across the Newham school community. Available to begin January 2026 and to attend pre-start induction before January 2026.
