This role is primarily based in Glasgow with some hybrid flexibility. You will follow our Development Programme to become a subject-matter expert in our software applications, progressing toward Technical Product Owner responsibilities.
Job Description
The Technical Product Owner oversees all aspects of delivering Motorola Solutions software solutions to one or more customers. The TPO is the primary point of contact for the customer on delivery and technical issues and may coordinate backup resources as needed. A TPO bridges product vision and technical execution, leveraging the roadmap to guide development.
Initial placement is in development as a Developer writing Java, XSLT and using in-house tools to produce Android applications. As you gain technical expertise, you will gradually shift toward more TPO responsibilities.
Responsibilities
 * Capture and document customer requirements (business process analysis, technical analysis, etc.).
 * Produce a solution specification/design and obtain customer agreement.
 * Produce and agree a project plan with the customer.
 * Manage development and testing of the solution in line with the project plan.
 * Deployment and customer sign-off of the solution.
 * Coordinate the planning, design and installation of the technical architecture for a solution.
 * Manage customer testing phases (SAT/UAT) and deploy support plans.
 * Develop and maintain project-related documentation and business benefits realization.
 * Coordinate third-party supplier involvement and manage in-life customer relationships.
 * Identify opportunities relating to potential sales.
Basic Requirements
Technical Expertise / Qualifications
 * 5 years UK residency is required for security check.
 * A formal qualification (Degree) in Computing Science or equivalent experience.
 * Knowledge of Agile project management principles.
Person Profile / Core Competencies
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * High level of technical understanding with the ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
 * Diplomacy skills for managing customer stakeholder relationships.
 * Well-organised and disciplined in time management.
