About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers' doors. You will embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient running of the shop in a friendly environment.
Note: You must be 18 or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day in-store and manage your delivery routes.
* Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
* Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and adhere to health and safety standards.
* Represent the Waitrose brand on the road, prioritizing excellent customer service.
* Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
* Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
* Full valid UK manual driving license (Category B) with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good time management.
* Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
* IT literacy.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles are advantageous.
