Maintenance Technician
Our client, a prestigious, international manufacturing company, based in Norwich are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team.
This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday (39 hours per week)
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience required
1. NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical maintenance discipline.
2. Relevant hands on experience in engineering maintenance (a minimum of 3 years).
3. Boiler repairs and maintenance
4. PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and basic electrical skills.
5. The ability to multi-task and problem solve, using reliability data to identify improvement needs.
6. Have the ability to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.
Key Duties:
7. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the role will cover:
8. Mechanical maintenance on a variety of process plants including; pumps, vessels, separation equipment, heat exchangers, hydraulic /pneumatic and piping systems.
9. Reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
10. Basic electrical work on such items as electric motors and starter circuits.
11. Complete mechanical assembly and pipe preparation tasks.
12. Valve repair/ refurbishment including pressure testing.
13. Undertaking accurate CMMS report writing and record keeping, ensuring an auditable closed loop system.
14. Operation and maintenance of the CHP plant, which includes gas compression, steam generation, electricity generation.
15. Daily and weekly monitoring of plant.
16. Equipment failure Root Cause Analysis.
17. Promote and adhere to high standards of housekeeping and engineering hygiene.
Successful candidate will be required to participate in an out of hour’s call-out rota, once deemed competent, for which they will receive additional remuneration.
Desirable Knowledge, skills & Experience: :
18. An understanding of boiler operations, maintenance and repair.
19. An understanding of pump and valve maintenance.
20. Experience of working in an industrial workplace with high hazard environments, and knowledge of applicable regulations and safe systems of work.
21. Relevant mechanical experience of fixed and rotating equipment.
22. Electrical experience to ensure effective interaction with ECI disciplines.
23. Member of a nationally recognised body e.g. Engineering Council.
