Role Overview
Phlebotomy Team Leader – University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust – Coventry, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Birmingham.
Responsibilities
* Collect blood samples from inpatients, outpatients, clinics, GP surgeries and home settings, ensuring accurate venepuncture for all age groups.
* Conduct competency assessments for all new staff on venepuncture procedures.
* Serve as the point of reference for health and safety, supporting departmental meetings in the absence of the Phlebotomy Supervisor.
* Monitor and record staff leave and absences.
* Ensure completion of mandatory training and health and safety documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in phlebotomy, venepuncture and competency assessment.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
* Strong commitment to patient care, accuracy and confidentiality.
* Ability to work shift patterns, including early, late, weekends and bank holiday shifts.
