We provide design, civil engineering, and maintenance services across multiple sectors.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Support the Senior HRBP in the delivery of the regular HR service, advising and coaching to ensure a consistent and efficient customer experience.</li><li>Champion and support continuous improvement in HR service delivery, seeking opportunities to review, streamline and automate processes.</li><li>Advise employees on entitlements and associated application processes.</li><li>Support the wider HR team in implementing and embedding strategies and initiatives.</li><li>Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records and reports, and provide reports as required.</li><li>Act as the first point of contact for managers on all matters relating to employment relations, including absence, performance, capability, disciplinary and grievance, and provide practical advice and guidance.</li><li>Delegate absence, performance and probationary matters to the HR Officer and provide support.</li><li>Support investigations, including preparing minutes and investigation reports as required.</li><li>Coach and advise managers on best practices and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Assist the Senior HRBP with employment relation matters as required.</li><li>Ensure timely resolution of all ER matters and escalations to the Senior HRBP.</li><li>Visit the Peterborough and St Albans offices one day per month and meet with managers or employees, including regional sites, as needed.</li><li>Provide support at disciplinary and grievance meetings, in person or via Teams.</li><li>Provide information for the Board Report to illustrate people trends.</li><li>Participate in HR audits and attend the monthly Eastern Management meeting to present information.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications & Experience</h3><ul><li>Essential Minimum – CIPD Level 5.</li><li>Demonstrable HR generalist experience working within a similar role.</li><li>Updated knowledge of employment law and reform plans.</li><li>Excellent understanding of HR policies, processes and best practices.</li><li>Supportable experience of HR systems.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>Driving licence.</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive salary.</li><li>Company pension.</li><li>Life assurance.</li><li>Private medical.</li><li>25 days of annual leave in addition to 8 public bank holidays and loyalty days.</li><li>8 hours volunteering.</li><li>Employee Assistance Programme.</li><li>Flexible benefits via salary sacrifice.</li><li>Company car / green car scheme / car allowance / van (dependent on position).</li><li>Leadership & management training and coaching.</li><li>Regular line management engagement and appraisal.</li><li>Internal and externally delivered training.</li><li>Continuous service awards.</li></ul><h3>Equality and Diversity</h3><p>Proud member of the Disability Confident employer scheme.
