Job Description: I am currently working with an brilliant organisation based near Teddington who are looking for an experienced ' IT Systems Administrator ' to join them on a permanent basis.
You'll be accountable for the daily operation, security, and reliability of the Trust's IT systems, ensuring consistent service levels. Candidates should have a minimum of five years' experience in technical support roles, with a proven track record of reporting to management. You'll also need hands-on experience with VMware, Windows Server, macOS MDM, FortiGate, Aruba (switching/wireless), and Veeam Backup. We're looking for an independent trouble-shooter who can effectively engage with stakeholders, including vendors and management, while also collaborating with the IT Systems Manager and Service Leads.

Experience with:
IT infrastructure management: Developing, managing, and supporting systems, networks, and infrastructure for a large user base (approx. 2000).
Core IT services: Web access, data storage, email (local and cloud), networked printing, backups, and diverse software.
Server environments: Virtual platforms (servers, storage, backups), multiple Windows Server versions, and SQL server support.
Network & Security: Active Directory (including DHCP, DNS, LDAP, 802.1x, wireless, VPN), firewall, and filtering.
System management: Management information systems and mobile device management.
Operating Systems: Windows and Apple Mac systems, software, and services.
Best Practices: Current IT best practices, standards, and statutory requirements.
Skills and Aptitudes:
Problem-solving: Analyse issues, make informed judgments, take appropriate action, and accept responsibility.
Communication: Explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptability: Adjust and adapt working practices to changing requirements.
