Job Title:Home Risk Pricing Manager

Location:Bexhill/Leicester/London

Pricing is more than just a number –it’sa strategic capability. At the heart of Hastings is deep risk insight – continually improving how we assess, segment and price risk through data and analytics.

The Role:

The risk pricing manager will lead a team of 2 analysts with the aim of delivering our profit and growth targets for home.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Prioritising team resource and workstack items to help achieve our home profit and growth targets

2. Analysing various data sources (including loss, policy,quoteand market data), toidentifyopportunities to improve our risk pricing.

3. Developing & delivering new insight, including the integration of new data, new innovativetechniquesand ways of working

4. Working closely with Actuarial, Data Science, Underwriting, Data Engineering, Account Management, Retail and Counter Fraud / Digital teams

5. Critically review technical models produced by actuaries and data scientists

6. Analyse the above models todeterminetheoptimalway to combine these model outputs to improve the pricing algorithm

7. Analyse the models toidentifysegments where prices can be improved

8. Create andmaintaintools that enable us to source new pricing leads on an automated basis

9. Representingthe home team on various underwriting projects to generate value for the wider business

10. Support the team through peer reviews,coachingand mentoring

11. Ensure that we are meeting customers’ fair and reasonable expectations and provide fair outcomes for our customers.

12. Band 4, with 2 direct reports, but flexible on this depending on candidate.

Whatwe’relooking for:

13. Strong general insurance background/knowledge preferable

14. Strong Analysis and coding experience. Python preferred, but if experience is with other codinglanguagesthen this can be trained up

15. Comfortable working with and analysing numerical/statistical data

16. Thirst for making change/Inquisitive, curious nature

17. Collaborates well with colleagues from own team and other teams

18. Good communicationskills, written and verbal
