Data & Development Lead – Bicester. We’re looking for a driven and forward-thinking data & systems lead to provide essential technical leadership, combining hands-on expertise with strategic direction. You will guide a small but skilled team to design and implement high-quality data engineering, automation, and systems development solutions that support our broader digital and innovation objectives. This position plays a key part in shaping and delivering the internal data and systems infrastructure. You’ll take ownership of technical architecture, champion scalable solutions, and work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure our systems are efficient, modern, and fit for purpose. What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead and mentor a team of three technical specialists, covering data engineering, systems development, and process automation.
* Define and evolve internal architecture to ensure systems are scalable, integrated, and aligned with business priorities.
* Deliver robust, technically sound solutions to complex challenges, while setting best practices and direction for your team.
* Take an active role in technical delivery, whether building solutions, leading projects, or implementing change.
* Ensure system integration and design is well-documented, maintainable, and future-proof.
* Prioritise team efforts to align with strategic goals, ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs on time.
* Support the professional development of your team through coaching, upskilling, and creating opportunities for growth.
* Partner closely with IT operations, business stakeholders, and data teams to deliver meaningful improvements and innovations.
What You’ll Bring:
* Solid experience in data engineering and systems development, particularly with Databricks and Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Power Platform, and M365.
* Familiarity with various SaaS platforms, such as Workday and Monday.com, is a plus.
* Proven leadership skills in managing and motivating small, agile technical teams.
* A hands-on approach—you’re comfortable coding, building, and troubleshooting, as well as setting strategy and direction.
* Deep understanding of data integration, automation workflows, and scalable system design.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
