West London CAMHS is looking for an 0.4 WTE Team Lead (Band 8b) to join our innovative new North West London Non‑Violent Resistance (NVR) Support and Intervention Service pilot on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. The pilot aims to provide access to NVR for families and carers of neuro‑divergent young people aged 0‑18 currently on the Dynamic Support Register (DSR).
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and innovative clinician who can take a leading role using a creative and dynamic approach, maintaining clinical curiosity, engaging in reflective practice and advocating for children, young people and families needs. The successful candidate will support and implement commitments to staff wellbeing, manageable job plans and opportunities for staff to develop skills and knowledge further while in role.
Main duties of the job
The service will cover young people and their families, registered with a GP and resident within the NWL boroughs of Hounslow, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Hillingdon, Harrow, Brent, Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. The role is to clinically lead the pilot, which will involve service development and stakeholder consultation with health, social care and third‑sector organisations, line management of clinical staff and co‑delivery of NVR interventions.

Qualifications
* Professional knowledge acquired through a degree or doctorate level qualification in one of the following: Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent if trained overseas), Nursing RMN/RNC, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (eligible for full membership of the Association of Child Psychotherapists), Social work with additional therapeutic qualifications or Occupational therapy.
* Current professional registration as applicable: Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), Social Work England (SWE), Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) or UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
* Post‑qualification training in supervision and specialist application of formal therapy models.
* Completion of Foundation and Advanced level NVR training.
* Further training in one or more therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT or EMDR.
Experience
* Extensive post‑registration experience that includes working in a supervisory and leadership role.
* Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity and across the age range of 0‑18, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
* Substantial experience of working with Children and Young People in mental health crisis.
* Experience of assessment and intervention with individuals with neurodevelopmental difficulties.
* Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
* Experience of teaching and training.
* Experience of multi‑agency working.
* Significant experience of delivering professional, clinical and management supervision to qualified mental health practitioners.
* Experience of, and commitment to, service development.
* Experience of multi‑agency work specific to neuro‑divergent children and young people (e.g., Children with Disabilities Social Care Teams, DSRs, LAEPs, CETRs, etc.).
* Experience of applying mental health knowledge and skills in different cultural contexts.
Knowledge & Skills
* Skills in the use of complex methods of assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
* Well‑developed communication skills, oral and written, for conveying complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non‑professional groups.
* Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the professional body.
* Knowledge and skills in specialist assessment and intervention with specific groups such as looked‑after children, learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, adolescent mental health, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders.
* Knowledge of application of therapeutic models to children who have special educational needs and neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Knowledge of legislation, policies and processes related to neuro‑divergent children and young people (e.g., LAEP, CTSR, DSR, EHCPs).

Salary: £72,719 to £83,505 a year (pro‑rata).
