Senior Project Manager – Capital Projects
The Senior Project Manager is a key member of the Capital Projects team, responsible for leading the planning, management and delivery of a complex portfolio of capital schemes across the Trust’s estate. This includes RAAC mitigation, backlog maintenance, statutory compliance works, infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments and redevelopment projects that support safe, modern and sustainable healthcare environments.
Responsibilities
* Deliver complex capital projects through full lifecycle: feasibility, business case, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
* Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage consultants and contractors, oversee budgets and risks, and provide accurate reporting to senior leaders and programme boards.
* Translate strategic objectives into practical, deliverable project plans that minimise disruption to patient care.
* Maintain robust governance, risk registers, programmes and financial updates, escalating risks and issues as required.
* Support the development of the Trust’s longer‑term estates and capital strategy, contribute to business case development for major investments.
Qualifications
* Strong capital or estates delivery experience in a healthcare environment.
* Proven ability to manage complex risks, deliver value‑for‑money outcomes and improve safety, resilience and sustainability.
* Excellent commercial awareness, decision‑making and communication skills.
* Experience managing contractors, consultants and procurement processes.
* Knowledge of NHS standards, statutory requirements and Trust governance.
