Role Overview
This role involves acting as the Principal Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead Coordinator within RCT's Adult Safeguarding Team. The position is based within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team in Rhondda Cynon Taff CBC, operating on a hybrid model.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage safeguarding processes to protect and promote the wellbeing of adults at risk, children, carers, families, and vulnerable individuals by delivering high-quality safeguarding practices and driving continuous improvement.
2. Undertake the Adult at Risk Duty function of the Local Authority.
3. Evaluate safeguarding reports against thresholds in Part 7 of the Social Services Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and statutory guidance, making or facilitating enquiries, chairing multi-agency strategy meetings, adult protection case conferences, and other professional meetings as required.
4. Manage a caseload of safeguarding cases and act as Lead Coordinator for Adult Safeguarding cases.
5. Lead and manage the delivery of interventions requiring high-level risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
6. Develop and implement evidence-based interventions through co-production of Adult Care and Support Protection plans in safeguarding strategy meetings and case conferences.
7. Represent Adult Services at MARAC, MAPPA, or other safeguarding and public protection forums.
8. Share knowledge and best practices across the team and with partner agencies.
9. Collaborate to improve performance, quality, and consistency of safeguarding practice to achieve the best outcomes for adults at risk, carers, families, and vulnerable people.
