Highland Vet Referrals is expanding, and we're looking for a dedicated and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic team in Inverness as part of our exciting new referral service. What You'll Do Assist in surgeries, including scrubbing in for orthopaedic and medical cases Provide nurse consultations (post-op checks, laser therapy, admissions, and discharges) Manage anesthesia, including ventilator use Support diagnostic imaging with advanced equipment including Examion Digital X-ray and Siemens CT Handle stock ordering and maintain a clinically clean environment Assist visiting specialists such as dermatologists and pain management experts While orthopaedic or medical experience is a plus, we warmly welcome nurses eager to take their first steps into referral practice, offering strong support and development opportunities. Who We're Looking For An experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse with strong clinical skills. You'll have excellent communication skills, a passion for high-quality patient care, and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture. A proactive approach to continuous learning and developing practice protocols will make you a great fit. Working pattern This full-time position involves a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with no weekend or out-of-hours duties-overnight care is provided by Highland Vet Emergencies. We offer a flexible rolling rota to accommodate preferred working hours, with shift patterns evolving as our out-of-hours service develops. Flexibility and teamwork are essential, as our close-knit team shares responsibility for patient care, decision-making, and practice upkeep. We are open to discussing part-time options.
