Position: Band 7 Sonographer - Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU / Gynae) Location: Croydon Healthcare Services, London Contract Type: Locum - Full-Time Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week Start Date: ASAP Rate: £31 per hour Role Summary: We are urgently seeking a Band 7 Sonographer with extensive experience in Early Pregnancy scanning (predominantly transvaginal) to join the Early Pregnancy Unit at Croydon Healthcare Services. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality ultrasound services in a busy and supportive team, contributing to the management and clinical care of women in early pregnancy. Key Responsibilities: Perform transvaginal and abdominal scans for early pregnancy assessments Work closely with EPU consultants and CNSs in line with NICE guidelines Support patient management with accurate diagnosis and timely reporting Provide teaching and mentoring support to a trainee Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) undertaking a scanning course Ensure all documentation and reporting is completed in accordance with NHS policies and clinical governance standards Requirements: HCPC-registered Sonographer (or equivalent professional body registration) Proven experience in Early Pregnancy Unit settings, specifically transvaginal scanning Strong knowledge of current NICE guidance on Early Pregnancy care Confident working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team Experience in training/mentoring junior staff is highly desirable Fully compliant and able to work within IR35 under Direct Engagement Must be able to commit to Monday-Friday cover for up to 12 months
