Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Surveyor to join our Estates team, playing a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and effective management of our school's estate.
This varied role will involve carrying out a wide range of inspections and evaluations across the campus, including fire safety, asbestos management, water hygiene, radon monitoring, and equipment compliance. You will act as a point of contact for statutory compliance matters, providing clear technical advice and guidance, producing accurate reports, and ensuring timely resolution of any remedial works.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of building safety and compliance, with experience in fire safety, asbestos, and broader estates compliance. You will be confident in carrying out detailed inspections, compiling professional reports, and maintaining up-to-date compliance records.
This role requires someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
Essential qualifications include:
* A relevant HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in a construction or built environment-related subject along with a good standard of general education to include literacy and numeracy
* A full UK driving licence
Desirable qualifications include:
* IT literacy
* IOSH
* NEBOSH
* P405 Asbestos Management
* P901 Legionella Management
* Fire Safety qualification – FIRAS qualification / accreditation
This is a permanent, year-round position, working 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. The salary is £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
