SEMH Maths Teacher (Secondary) – Preston
Prospero Teaching is working with a brilliant Secondary Age SEMH provision in Preston who are currently looking for a Temp to Perm, Full Time Y8 Teacher.
This school caters for secondary aged pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Some students on roll also have autism, ADHD, ACES/Trauma & display challenging behaviour.
As a teacher in SEMH you will connect directly with young people, guiding them to get the very best from their education. The role requires someone who is empathetic and understanding of the needs of the students but is also able to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
The students are generally low attainment, so you will be teaching at a high primary / low KS3 level.
You will be expected to teach multiple subjects at a functional skills level, and the curriculum also includes life skills and phonics.
The school offers a variety of vocational skills for the students, which also supplement their learning.

You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, therapeutic, and meaningful activities, supporting them in learning to help them reach their full potential.
This role is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) to start in September.
Position Details:

3. Hours: 0830 – 1530 (Mon-Fri)
4. Type of Work: Temp to Perm
5. Full time/Part time: Full time only
6. Minimum Rate of Pay: £162 – Paid to Scale (QTS)
7. Start date: ASAP

Requirements:
Qualified teacher status (QTS) or other teaching qualification.
Specific experience working with children with SEMH needs.
A resilient attitude and range of behaviour management techniques.

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
