Full – Time RE Teacher – Portsmouth, Hampshire

GSL Education are seeking a passionate and engaging Religious Education Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Portsmouth, starting from January 2026. A school tour is available before being invited back to the school for a more formal interview process. Interviews are to take place over the next few weeks. The school warmly welcomes both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators to apply.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging lessons on world religions, ethics, philosophy, and moral values that encourage critical thinking and respect for diversity.
* Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and school policies.
* Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes open discussion, tolerance, and understanding of different beliefs.
* Encourage personal reflection and support students in developing their own moral and spiritual awareness.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic and personal growth.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Religious Studies or a related subject.
* Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
* Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse pupil needs.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and be part of a supportive teaching team.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
