Job Description

Salary £35,235 - £39,513 per annum. Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week.

Duty and Assessment – Children's Social Care. Locations: Preston & Chorley. International Sponsorship – not open to international sponsorship.

Training and Development

New recruits will attend our established Social Work Academy, which includes an extensive induction programme, regular recall days, and training for ASYE social workers. Our Practice Development Managers lead this Academy, ensuring high standards of practice.

Responsibilities

* Assess and respond to cases involving children and families, ensuring safety and well‑being.
* Deliver quality and timely assessments.
* Engage families, children, and young people actively in the assessment process.
* Collaborate with other agencies and develop multi‑agency plans.
* Participate in continuous professional development and training.


Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum of 12 months social work experience.
* Must be registered with Social Work England.
* Provide a car for business use or be able to arrange transport; we may consider non‑drivers with disability.


Legal and Compliance

You must be registered (Social Work England) to be appointed as a Social Worker.

Car requirement: You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use; we may consider if you cannot drive because of a disability.

The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and DBS disclosure will be required if successful.
