We are a well-established and highly regarded Tier One contractor. Working as an integrated member of project delivery teams and contributing to project bidding, the Senior Planner will contribute significantly to the continued success and growth of the Civils Division and will be expected to meet personal development targets, project goals and business unit targets.
A full driving licence is essential. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar position with a main contractor.
Key Objectives
* Produce Tender programmes compliant with ITT, Tender Sum, Design (where appropriate), Assurance and Methodology agreed with suppliers and bid team.
* Produce other Programme Tender Deliverables as required by Pre-Contracts Team.
* Deliver presentation of Tender Programme to both Internal and External Clients.
* Cost and Resource loading of Tender Programme to ITT requirements.
Typical Duties
* Create and Manage the Primavera P6 programme for each tender and its storage in the companies Enterprise Database.
* Provide detailed support and assistance to the bid team in order to enable the team to evaluate key points on the critical path and test and change logic where previously agreed to either improve upon the tender programme or to highlight key concerns.
* Produce programmes, reports and / or extract filters as required by the bid team, including indication of deviation from the baseline programme in P6 format.
* Attend progress meetings with Internal and External Customers and deliver presentations on the tender programme as may be required.
* The management of designers and other suppliers programmes to ensure their sequence of works are fully integrated into the tender programme.
* Providing technical input and advice as necessary.
* Introducing improvements and innovations where appropriate.
Essential
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the civil engineering sector.
* Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other relevant planning software.
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Full, clean driving licence.
Desirable:
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, CIOB).
* Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
* Experience in leading planning teams or mentoring junior planners
