Overview
As a Nurse within ED you will be part of a brilliant, friendly, hard working team who strive for excellence and support each other. The role primarily looks after the needs of adults and children and their families, using a holistic approach. You will identify health and wellbeing needs using assessment skills, prioritise care, and provide excellent standards of treatment to both patients and their families or carers. You will use your existing skills and knowledge together with training opportunities offered by the trust. Providing support and health promotion to families is crucial, with good communication skills with children, families and other members of the multidisciplinary team essential. The trust’s guidelines and policies will guide clinical management of patients, which you will become familiar with. The role takes place in our brand new, state-of-the-art ED unit, designed to be child friendly and stress free with play, sensory equipment and artwork funded by staff efforts.
As a nurse you'll play a key role in assessing the nursing needs of adults, children or young people who access our services, taking into account medical, social, cultural and family circumstances. You will work as part of a team to effectively prioritise patient care and manage the flow of patients through ED, responding to emergencies and supporting people through their time in the department. You will communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient needs are met.
