Job Purpose

Due to recent expansion, we are creating a brand-new Commercial finance business partner role to lead and own the commercial business partnering function. This is a standalone position requiring a proactive, strategic thinker who can operate independently, design and implement the processes, and influence senior leadership decisions.
You will be instrumental in shaping the organisation's financial strategy through robust planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting. This role offers significant exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on business performance.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Lead and own the commercial business partnering function including setting out the framework below:
* To own the demand planning spreadsheet and inventory model with a view to migrating to an inventory/supply chain system within 12/18 months.
* Partner with finance and commercial to support the COGS financials for the month end accounts packs and customer profitability analysis by the commercial team.
* Develop and maintain a robust Sales forecasting model, which facilitates accurate forecasting and analysis of margin and budget variances.
* Develop and maintain commercial KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to monitor and optimise business outcomes.
* Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports to senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Partner with commercial department heads to challenge assumptions, understand revenue and cost drivers, and deliver actionable insights.
* Continuously improve processes, automate reporting, and implement best-in-class tools and systems.
* Support board reporting, investor relations, and strategic presentations as required.
* Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems and reporting structures.
* Undertake ad hoc projects and analysis aligned with the role's level and scope.
Required Skills, Personal qualities and Qualifications:
Essential
* Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
* Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of the role deliverables.
* Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) desirable.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and influence decisions.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
Desirable
* Deep understanding of accounting principles, corporate finance, and business operations.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Use of Oracle NetSuite is an advantage but not essential
