Red Kite is a tenant-led, not-for-profit, charitable housing association which owns and manages more than 6,600 homes within 15 miles of High Wycombe, in the south of Buckinghamshire. We have a turnover of over £47 million and a development programme to deliver 500 homes over the next five years. Our mission is to build a strong foundation for our tenants and communities around safe, warm and affordable homes and their voices are important to ensure we remain truly tenant-led through everything we do. We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer who will provide strategic and operational leadership across our customer-facing services. This is a pivotal role within our Executive Leadership Team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, customer-centred services across housing management, property services and community engagement.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring and collaborative leader who can drive operational excellence while championing outstanding customer experience. You will work closely with the Board and Resident Representative Team to ensure our services meet regulatory expectations while achieving top-quartile performance in tenant satisfaction and service delivery.
You will play a key role in shaping the culture, vision and performance of the operations directorate, ensuring that our teams are empowered to deliver innovative, efficient and responsive services that place tenants at the heart of everything we do.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide strategic leadership for Red Kite’s operations directorate, including customer services, property services, resident engagement and communities.
* Ensure the effective delivery of high-quality housing and property services that meet the needs of tenants and communities.
* Drive a culture focused on exceptional customer experience, high performance and continuous service improvement.
* Lead and develop high-performing operational teams, creating a strong culture of accountability, collaboration and engagement.
* Work closely with the Board and Resident Representative Team to ensure transparency, strong governance and effective oversight of service performance.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and sector standards while delivering efficient and sustainable services.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of Red Kite’s Corporate Strategy as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.
* Develop partnerships with stakeholders, contractors and community organisations to enhance service outcomes and tenant engagement.
In addition to the values and behaviours sought above, individuals should possess the following skills and experience:
* Significant senior leadership experience within operations, housing services or property services in a complex and regulated environment.
* A strong track record of delivering high-quality, customer-focused services and improving organisational performance.
* Experience of working with Boards and governance structures, including presenting performance and strategic updates.
* Demonstrable success in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams and driving organisational change and improvement.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective partnerships internally and externally.
* A commitment to tenant engagement and the delivery of services that reflect the needs and voices of residents.
