Programming Assistant – Quarry Bank Mill
We’re looking for a Programming Assistant at Quarry Bank Mill! In this role, you’ll assist in delivering activities for visitors including schools and families. You’ll deliver outdoor learning workshops such as Map Reading and River Studies and seasonal events like Easter, Summer of Play and Christmas. Your goal is to create an enjoyable experience, build a connection to Quarry Bank and deepen visitors’ understanding of heritage, conservation and nature.
Working alongside the team, you’ll deliver events that bring Quarry Bank to life all year round. You’ll work with volunteers and staff across departments, collaborate in a large property team and help link everything we do back to our cause. You’ll conduct outdoor learning sessions for school groups, so a passion for nature and the outdoors is important. Full training will be provided – experience working with children is beneficial. Your people skills will ensure excellent customer service and a welcoming, positive visitor experience.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: £15,502.50 pro rata (≈£13.25 per hour). Permanent role. Working hours: 1170 hours per year, paid in 12 equal instalments. Working pattern: approximately 3 days per week on a rota basis (M, Th, Fr and every 4th weekend). Additional weekend shifts may be required during school holidays and peak periods, along with occasional evening work for events.
