There is also an additional Commercial allowance of up to £4,000 available. The salary and allowance awarded will be based on the level of CIPS (Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification achieved coupled with the candidates level of experience which will be be eligible to receive an allowance an individual would be required to have a minimum of CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply together with an equivalent level of experience. It?s an exciting time to join our Contract Management Team, as we?re strengthening our team by introducing additional roles to support the management of contracts and supplier relationships. Our Commercial Contract Management function provides commercial leadership and support to our supplier relationships, and operational contract owners ensuring our commercial relationships are supported, managed and controlled effectively. Our Commercial team is split into three teams. Commercial Delivery manage the first stages of the commercial life cycle from end user requirements through to market tender, and contracting with our selected suppliers. The Contract Management team takes up the second part of the life cycle and manage contract implementation, in life contract management, disputes, transition / exit and everything else in between. The third team is the Commercial Governance and Assurance team, who manage all policies, assurance activities and P2P. Each team has a Head of Function reporting into the Head of Commercial. This role will support the Commercial Contract Management Lead in delivering our commercial contract management strategy, providing a customer focused support service, understanding the business needs and stakeholder drivers, driving supplier performance, and ensuring full commercial control of our contracts. You?ll support rolling out Government Contract Management standards and processes, ensuring contracts are managed proportionately according to value, complexity and risk and that supplier performance is appropriately measured and reported. We have one role available currently; Commercial Contract Management Specialist ? IT This role will focus on IT contracts. As a Contract Management Specialist, you?ll support key supplier relationships alongside various Business Contract Owners (BCO?s) and ensure plans are implemented to maintain a robust performance management regime, ensuring adequate investment by our business areas in contract, supplier and service management. This?ll ensure we can meet and deliver business and strategic objectives. The focus of this role will be to split between support for the Commercial Contract Management Lead, and also directly leading on some contract management activities. This role will support the Commercial Contract Management Lead with leadership and commercial management for the Contract Management program within assigned contracts, which may include: Software, IT Hardware, IT Professional Services, Cloud Computing, Cyber and Networking. Person specification We?re looking for somebody with: Experience of contract management or procurement - including commercial knowledge and experience across the full commercial sourcing cycle, ideally within an IT setting. Public Procurement experience within PCR2015 and PA2023. Ability to work across teams and business units. Experience establishing supplier relationships. Interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. Ability to demonstrate evidence of commitment to personal development in commercial knowledge. Applicable professional qualification(s) along with strong understanding of the principles of commercial management (e.g., Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), World Commerce and Contracting Association, Institute of Leadership & Management) and/or equivalent or a willingness to work towards, and demonstrable experience.
