Lead Clinical Research Practitioner

The post holder will support the research team in ensuring that all research studies are implemented and run to the standards governed by the EU Clinical Trials Directive, ICH Good Clinical Practice, Research Governance Standards for Health and Social Research, and Trust R&D requirements.
The post holder will ensure that recruitment to commercially sponsored studies is on time and to target, in line with the locality plans, national High-Level Objective's (HLOs) and to a high-quality standard and will act as a source of advice and guidance.
Main duties of the job
* To ensure high standards and continuity of care for research participants during the study and maintain lines of communication.
Support the Research and Delivery manager with the overall management of NIHR portfolio studies by developing robust and effective project plans to manage the delivery of complex and large-scale research projects.
Identify new portfolio studies the Trust can engage in.

Person Specification
* Masters level qualification in Clinical Research Management or relevant experience
* Experience of Protocol development and review, with a focus on Inclusive research
* Experience of supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate staff
* Substantial experience of conducting clinical trials in academia, NHS or industry
* Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with clinicians and scientists
* Research experience
