The Role:
As a Childcare Tutor, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging and personalised learning experiences. Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering tailored childcare-related curriculum and activities (e.g., early years development, child psychology basics, practical childcare skills).
Providing one-to-one and small group tuition and support to students with diverse needs.
Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.
Assessing student progress and adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
Collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals to ensure holistic student support.
Building strong, positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and external agencies.
Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behaviour.
What We Are Looking For:
Essential (Qualified or Unqualified):
A genuine passion for working with children and young people, particularly those who may have faced challenges in mainstream education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
Adaptability and a proactive attitude to problem-solving.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
For Unqualified Candidates: Demonstrable experience in childcare, youth work, support work, or a related field where you have worked directly with children or young people.
Desirable (but not essential):
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Level 2/3/4 in Childcare, Early Years, Teaching Assistant, or Youth Work).
Experience working in an Alternative Provision (AP) or SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) setting.
Knowledge of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework or relevant childcare curricula.
First Aid certification.
