Relief Events Chef Hook Norton Contract: Full Time, Permanent Salary: £ 43,000 per annum Hours: 40 per week Our head offices based in the beautiful village of Hook Norton near Banbury. Here you will find our teams of finance, HR, purchasing, marketing & creative that support all of our locations across the Thomas Franks family. There is ample parking space available when visiting. Role Overview We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Relief Event Chef who believes in the power of food to do good. This role is perfect for a chef who loves feeding people, thrives in lively environments, and wants to use their culinary skills to make a real difference. From cooking wholesome, flavour-packed meals for homeless outreach projects to leading the kitchen at vibrant community festivals, you’ll bring your creativity, professionalism, and heart to everything you do. Key Responsibilities Cook with Purpose Plan, prepare, and cook nourishing meals that are both delicious and balanced for community and charity programs. Champion flavour, freshness, and nutrition while upholding the highest food safety standards. Feed with Compassion Support our homeless and vulnerable feeding initiatives, serving meals with empathy, dignity, and respect. Create welcoming food experiences that remind people they matter. Celebrate Through Food Deliver inspiring and memorable catering at charity events, festivals, and Foundation gatherings. Showcase creative presentation and service that reflect the warmth and mission of our organisation. Create with Care Design menus around seasonal produce, donated ingredients, and sustainable practices—minimising waste and maximising flavour. Collaboration in the Kitchen Work side-by-side with volunteers, fellow chefs, and community partners to prepare and serve meals efficiently and joyfully. Plan and Prepare Help organise kitchen logistics, equipment, and stock for both fixed and mobile event locations. Cook Safely Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, allergen management, and health & safety practices. Person Specification Essential: Qualified chef with proven experience in catering, events, or large-scale meal production. Deep passion for community engagement and social impact through food. Excellent organisational and time-management skills, even in fast-paced environments. A flexible, can-do attitude and a love for teamwork. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements. Experience training or mentoring volunteers and junior team members.
