Development Plant Performance Engineer/ Plant Performance Engineer Drax Power Station Full time, permanent Onsite Are you an engineering professional looking to take on ownership and responsibility of a plant area and be a subject matter expert for your team? We're looking for a Plant Performance Engineer to join our Operations team here at Drax. This role can also be offered as a development opportunity for someone looking to progress into a Plant Performance Engineer role. About the role Within your role as a Plant Performance Engineer you'll be a subject matter expert for your plant area. You'll be accountable for technical excellence and leadership in a plant area whilst promoting people and plant area ownership at DPS (Drax Power Station). Plant performance is integral to deliver key business plan targets and maintain emissions and legislation compliance. You and the team are responsible for monitoring the performance of the power station, ensuring that any sub-optimal performance is identified and corrected in a timely manner. You'll ensure the highest level of safety standards and operational compliance are always applied through active plant walks and audits and promote One Safe Drax, this includes investigating safety accidents/incidents and issuing actions to ensure resolutions are learnt to prevent reoccurrence. You'll be liaising with external bodies to provide information and advice on key operational areas and undertake inspection, identification and prioritisation of efficiency related defects ensuring they are addressed at the earliest opportunity. About you Ideally, you'll have experience in power station operations, thermodynamics, combustion processes, power plant technology, or commercial and environmental operations and you'll have the ability to conduct detailed analysis of power plant performance. You'll have a relevant Engineering qualification, and be qualified to a minimum of HND level or be working towards this, as well as a recognised HSE qualification, or be willing to undertake this.
