Litigation Solicitor (Civil Litigation)
Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 DOE

Overview
Our client is looking to add a capable Litigation Solicitor to a busy, well-regarded team in the Basildon area. The Role
You will handle a varied civil litigation caseload, delivering a high standard of client care and helping to develop the department’s offering.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters from instruction through to resolution
* Advising clients clearly on strategy, risk, costs, and next steps
* Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and settlement documentation
* Negotiating settlements and representing clients where appropriate
* Supporting business development and helping grow the litigation service line
* Maintaining excellent file management and ensuring full regulatory compliance (SRA standards)
Caseload / Technical Focus
The role will suit someone comfortable with general civil litigation, with property litigation / property disputes experience being advantageous.
Experience in any of the below is helpful:
* Landlord and tenant disputes
* Boundary disputes / rights of way
* Contractual disputes
* Debt recovery
* Contentious probate (desirable, not essential)
Requirements (Essential)
* Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
* 2+ years’ PQE (guideline, flexibility for the right person)
* UK practice experience handling civil litigation matters
* Proven ability to run files independently with appropriate supervision
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills
* Excellent organisation, communication, and client care
* Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office (or similar legal tech)
