Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer (contract) to work in our Reading office. The role will be on a full-time basis working on our Clients Middle Eastern Oil & Gas project.
As a Principal Electrical Engineer you will be involved in electrical activities related to this Detailed Engineering scope of work. You will ensure the work is in accordance with design standards and codes whilst co-ordinating with the rest of the project engineering teams.
You'll need to utilise your extensive previous experience in FEED and EPC projects within the Oil & Gas Industry to review and deliver design packages. This will be assisted by your knowledge of power systems and digital control systems.

Expected:
1. Bachelor’s degree within the Electrical Engineering field or a BA in Science with a focus in Electrical Engineering
2. Extensive experience in design, engineering and construction
3. Must have FEED project experience
4. Engineer must be familiar with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC and other International electrical standards, best practices and value practices
5. Be fully familiar with analogue and Digital Control Systems including Power System Automation (PSA), DCS, PLC and SCADA controls
6. Thorough knowledge of the English language is required to perform the necessary in depth analysis and studies, make professional presentations and keep up with technical advancements
Desirable:
7. Ideally experience with Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) or similar software and all Microsoft office
