Senior Commercial Manager / QS responsible for Surveying, Estimating and Project Management – based in Milton Keynes. The ideal candidate will ideally reside within commuting distance Milton Keynes.

Join our Projects team as a Senior Surveyor / Estimator and Project manager working
on public sector, education, heritage building refurbishment and maintenance
projects, manufacturing of sash windows, doors, and interior solutions in our
on-site workshop.
Role Purpose
To be involved with the review, preparation and submission of tenders and quotes,
primarily on jobs in the £10k to £750k range.
Preparing and submitting quotations, highlighting details of works and associated costs,
together with pricing of variations.
Consulting with Internal & External Stakeholders and follow-up on tenders & quotes and where
appropriate work closely with clients, JV partners, and delivery teams to ensure a unified approach and pricing submission.
Provide end to end project management support to all parties and ensure the projects
hand over to the client on time and on budget.
What you will be doing
As a Senior Estimator and project manager, you will be client facing, and have end-to-end
accountability for your projects:
Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and clients.
Conduct site surveys, review tender documents, customer’s drawings, job specifications, design/value options, identifying project scope and prepare accurate costings in line with company policies.
Record assumptions and identify project risks and opportunities.
Produce quotes & tenders in line with Client timescales, following them through to a successful work order.
Manage each project from quotation, tender, mobilisation to final account, including
site surveys, project plans, project resources, valuations, budget constraints, and client satisfaction
feedback.
Consult with members of the project team, stakeholders & supply chain to ensure successful
completion of projects.
Who we are looking for.
Strong main Contractor background with diverse experience in construction, planned and
reactive building maintenance, light civil engineering, and utilities projects.
Demonstrable leadership qualities and entrepreneurial flair required to take on a future leadership role with a growing business.
Previous experience in estimating & managing varied multi-faceted construction projects.
Chartered by relevant industry recognised chartership e.g, ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB (desirable).
Proficient in the use of excel, project and similar software.
A Valid CSCS card, SMSTS & SSSTS. Deep understanding and knowledge of current health and safety regulations - CDM 2015.
Working knowledge of best practice solutions and optimisation of innovative
ideas and an understanding of the principles of Lean Construction, and 5D cost planning (desirable).
You will be a strong communicator with excellent people skills, coupled with an ability to form effective
relationships with partners and prioritise work within time constraints.
Existing subcontractor / supply chain relationships would be desirable to strengthen and
broaden our resource.
Able to demonstrate the existance of long-term client relationships, where you have
built trust and the potential for repeat business with your contacts and previous clients.
A natural and adaptable leader who can progress to senior management, able to galvanise and
motivate teams to achieve first class outcomes for clients and the business.
