Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and confident Community Neuro Physiotherapist to join our team on a flexible, part-time, self-employed basis. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to supplement their current workload or seeking a rewarding opportunity in a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist neurological physiotherapy for patients with conditions such as Stroke, Acquired Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Cerebral Palsy.
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored treatment plans.
* Monitor, evaluate, and adjust treatment plans to ensure optimal patient progress.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with professional and legal standards.
* Deliver rehabilitation reports, cost assessments, and treatment recommendations for case managers and solicitors when required.
* Ensure patients are actively involved in their rehabilitation plans, adapting approaches to meet their individual needs.
* Apply evidence-based practice to deliver effective treatments.
* Assess patient capacity, obtain informed consent, and work within legal frameworks when necessary.
Communication & Collaboration:
* Use appropriate communication techniques to educate and engage patients, families, and carers.
* Provide professional guidance and training to relatives, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
* Manage a caseload of complex patients, seeking peer support when needed.
* Liaise with relevant third parties, including healthcare professionals, case managers, and funding bodies.
Report Writing & Financial Responsibility:
* Prepare reports for patients, case managers, and solicitors as required.
* Assess and recommend necessary equipment to meet clinical needs.
* Understand funding limitations and liaise with third parties where appropriate.
Training & Professional Development:
* Maintain a Clinical Professional Development Portfolio and Personal Development Plan in line with professional standards.
* Stay updated with evidence-based practices and neurological treatment techniques.
* Participate in structured CPD sessions alongside other MSK physiotherapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory training and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) standards.
Requirements
* HCPC and CSP registration (mandatory).
* Minimum 2 years' experience in neurological physiotherapy.
* Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
