Accountable from concept design to asset readiness, the role sets technical ambition, manages the project engineering team, and partners with operational readiness. Supporting the Project Director, the AD may oversee CQV and automation functions and is recognized as a technical expert in biopharma processes and project execution. This leader fosters collaboration with operations teams and external partners while aligning with global standards and the project management framework (PMF). In this role you will… Accountability for Engineering Function: Fully responsible for planning, funding, and building the project-specific engineering function while ensuring the capability and capacity to deliver effectively. Team Leadership and Collaboration: Set direction and inspire the project team to success, while partnering closely with the operational readiness team, technical SMEs, and external firms to achieve shared goals. Design and Performance Ownership: Maintain accountability for design definition and performance from concept design through construction assist, ensuring adherence to stage gates, project reviews, deliverables, scope, objectives, and quality/EHS/sustainability/digital standards. Leadership for Project Delivery: Provide leadership to ensure safe, quality, and ethical project execution, delivering within the estimated range and timeline established at the concept start. Technical Innovation and Compliance: Establish project-specific technical and innovation ambitions, ensuring designs align with GSK platforms, drive efficiency, improve performance, and comply with cGMPs and the QMS. Advocacy and Representation: Act as a visible advocate for diversity in engineering, project delivery, and GSK Safety Life Saving Rules, while serving as a global team ambassador to the local site project environment. Why you? Basic Qualifications & Skills: Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil/Structural). Area of Specialisation: Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Project Management, Architecture. Significant experience in project engineering, including leading $10M projects and teams in pharma/biotech. Skilled in drug substance, sterile filling, and packaging operations across global end-to-end projects. Deep understanding of capital project lifecycle, cGMP, and regulatory compliance for successful delivery. Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and solve complex challenges with strong communication skills. Preferred Qualifications & Skills: Masters in Engineering, Professional Engineer, MBA, CSP, PMP.
