Slitting / Shearing Machine Operator, Birmingham, up to £14 per hour Bonus My client is a manufacturing company supplying high precision metal components to customers across the UK. Role summary: Setting up and operating metal processing machinery; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies Responsibilities / Tasks: - • Plan machining by studying job cards, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances, and setting up accurately. • Load feed mechanism by lifting material into position. • Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. • Document actions by completing job cards. • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. • Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. • Maintain a clean and tidy work area. • When the situation arises, work in other areas as directed. • Comply with the company’s Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures. • Safeguard the values under your control and observe the security of the Company’s premises, property, and confidential information.
