September starts once vetting is complete Within this Assistant Teacher / HLTA role you will provide support to the teacher, lead sessions and assist in planning, preparation, assessment and record keeping. This Assistant Teacher / HLTA post will involve: Leading class in the absence of the Teacher (PPA and short term absence) Work under the guidance of class teacher and senior team Developing a curriculum specialism and contributing to the development of the school curriculum Observation and recording of progress/ response to activities, evaluating success Admin, recording, evidence gathering and record keeping, sharing feedback Promote positive values, attitudes and good pupil behaviour Supporting students to access and engage with teacher-led curriculum and learning activities Assisting with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans. Supporting with emotional regulation and pastoral needs, as well as educational Assisting with personal care, attending to hygiene needs, and administering medication as required. Attend class and staff meetings after school Effective preparation and resource planning before and after school hours We are seeking individuals who: Are experienced working within schools with children, young people or adults with special educational needs or learning difficulties (minimum 3 years) Have a minimum of 6 months’ experience leading sessions a minimum of once a week in a school environment Are committed to and positive regarding ongoing training and professional development, continually looking to develop their skills Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with other professionals Knowledge of or training in learning strategies is advantageous NVQ Level 3 or above Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
