Job Description We are hiring! The IT team is recruiting for a Technology Support Specialist to join the firm on a permanent basis. Based out of Nottingham, this role puts you at the forefront of transforming the digital experience for end-users within our organisation. You’ll actively shape and modernise the tools, systems, and processes that define how we work. We’re looking for someone keen to take the lead on projects like transitioning to Windows 11, streamlining application management, and enhancing the overall efficiency of our digital workplace. You’ll work closely with the existing Service Desk and Infrastructure teams, but you’ll also have room to drive your own initiatives. Whether it’s deploying new software solutions, improving device performance, or rethinking how we support staff as they adapt to evolving technologies, your efforts will help define a more resilient and innovative IT environment. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of end-user computing initiatives, including the rollout of our new Windows 11 environment. Provide proactive on-site and remote support that goes beyond just fixing issues - your goal is to enhance the user’s day-to-day experience. Engage with colleagues across IT and other departments to identify gaps, explore new tools, and move the organisation towards modern, integrated solutions. Offer guidance and mentoring to the first-line support team, stepping in to tackle more complex technical challenges and sharing best practices. Contribute to projects such as SaaS integrations, endpoint security improvements, and application refinements that make our workplace more flexible and user-friendly. Use input from end-users to refine support methods and help the team evolve towards a future-focused model. Manage vendor relationships, working closely with Microsoft Account Managers and other support providers to align recommendations with the needs of the organisation and ensure effective adoption of technologies. What We’re Looking For Experience with Windows operating systems, including a readiness to embrace new versions and deployment strategies, is essential. A solid grounding in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint management tools is highly valued. You should be comfortable working with hardware, software, and mobile devices, as well as keen to gain new skills as the technology landscape changes. Familiarity with ITIL-based processes is welcome, but what really matters is your ability to communicate effectively, solve problems creatively, and manage your time under pressure. If you have a background in supporting users within a professional services environment, that’s a bonus, but adaptability and a willingness to lead are more important. We’re after someone who wants to move beyond maintenance and truly shape the next phase of our IT journey. Additional Details This role is based in our Nottingham office, working 35 hours per week with an 8-4 or 9-5 shift rotation. Occasionally, out-of-hours or weekend work may be needed for projects or office moves. Periodic travel to support remote offices is also required.
