Introduction
Are you an experienced Psychologist looking to take the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary psychological therapies team covering both male and female adult acute inpatient wards (23 beds) at Potters Bar Clinic.
You will provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to adult service users with acute mental health needs on the ward. Additionally, you will offer a clinical perspective for other service users not directly involved. Potters Bar employs a formulation-driven and trauma-informed model of care.
Reporting to the Lead Psychologist, your responsibilities include individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT collaboration, and risk assessments. You will facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and may be asked to design and deliver training.
As a Psychologist, you should have experience managing a caseload, assessing complex needs, and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support care plans.

As a Psychologist, your duties will include:
* Providing autonomous, specialist psychological services to patients in collaboration with the MDT.
* Undertaking specialist assessments.
* Delivering interventions based on formulations, NICE guidelines, and research evidence.
* Running therapeutic groups as agreed.
* Monitoring and managing patient risk, liaising with the MDT, and updating records.
* Ensuring all clinical work is recorded accurately.
* Attending ward rounds, case conferences, and providing reports.
* Preparing clinical reports such as assessments and discharge summaries.
* Liaising with colleagues internally and externally.
* Completing all related recording and reporting tasks.
Requirements to succeed in this role include:
* Having a BPS-recognized psychology degree.
* Being HCPC registered.
* Understanding evidence-based psychological practice.
* Experience applying psychological knowledge in psychiatric settings.
* Inpatient experience is preferable but not essential.
