The Role
To assist the Senior HR Assistant/HR Advisors in the provision of leadership for the Human Resources function.
To assist Senior HR Assistant/HR Advisors in supporting the achievement of NHS Lanarkshire strategic and operational objectives. Provide support and guidance to managers in accordance with statutory requirements, current legislation, policies and service activity to ensure a comprehensive HR Service to management and staff within Lanarkshire
Please not the duration of the post will be 6 months Fixed term or secondment
In this key role, you will:
1. The post holder is required to have a high level of interpersonal, communication and skills, with the ability to prioritise and adapt to the ever changing needs of the service.
2. To assist the Senior HR Assistant/HR Advisors in providing support to the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Directors, Associate Medical Directors on Medical, Dental and Clinical Staffing Issue.
3. Communicate verbally, in writing or via e mail with the Deputy Medical Director Associate Medical Directors, General Managers, Clinical Directors Service and Business Managers etc on everyday matters such as Pay Issues, Staffing levels etc
4. Advise and communicate with Medical and Dental managers on the recruitment, selection and retention policies processes and systems in relation to Senior and Junior Medical and Dental Staff. Ensuring that all adverts, job descriptions and appointment processes are in compliance with current legislation and NHS Lanarkshires policies and equal opportunities systems. Also represent the medical HR department on the recruitment/interviewing process ensuring legislation and NHSL policies are adhered to
What You'll Bring
5. The post holder will hold Certificate in HR Practice/ SVQ III in an administrative subject or be working towards this or have an equivalent level of qualification. The post holder should have demonstrable administrative knowledge and experience preferably within a HR environment or within the NHS.
6. The post holder will be required to have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written, be PC literate with the ability to prioritise and adapt in the delivery of major change.
7. The post holder will hold a current and valid UK Driving Licen
8. A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
