AWS Global Sales (AGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest-growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including the public sector in India.
This job opening is for a Solutions Architect role within the Public Sector team of AWS, India. We work with Central government ministries, State and Local governments, public sector units, educational institutions, EdTechs, nonprofits, and healthcare. Our vision is to help public institutions in India make a significant impact on citizens' lives by leveraging AWS cloud services in domains like Skilling, Smart Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Inclusion (Physical, Digital, and Financial).
As a Solutions Architect, you will provide a consistent approach for customers and partners to evaluate architectures and implement designs that scale over time, based on the five pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework — operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization. You will have the opportunity to shape and deliver strategies to increase the adoption of AWS services (like Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon SQS) within strategic accounts in the Public Sector.
Your responsibilities include owning technical engagements, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies, and guiding how applications and services are built on AWS. You should possess strong customer-facing skills to represent Amazon effectively and engage with senior personnel, as well as a technical background to interact with developers and architects. The role involves structured thinking about business, product, and technical challenges within the segment.
The AWS SA team offers a ramp-up program with self-paced learning, instructor-led training, hands-on projects, job shadowing, and peer-reviewed assessments to demonstrate your knowledge.
Key responsibilities:
1. Partner with sales to design solutions, drive AWS adoption, and increase revenue.
2. Educate customers on AWS value propositions.
3. Build credibility and relationships with senior technical personnel to promote cloud advocacy.
4. Participate in architectural discussions to ensure customer success with AWS solutions.
5. Define objectives and success criteria for each engagement.
6. Own engagements to ensure timely and successful delivery of value.
7. Share best practices within the AWS SA community.

Qualifications:
* 10+ years in solutions architecture or presales, preferably in OEM environments.
* Extensive experience in infrastructure or software architecture, including databases and networking.
* Pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture experience in tech/software sales.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work across organizations.
* Graduation/Technical degree; Computer Science highly desired.
* AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate).
* Experience with software/technology in customer-facing roles.
* Experience with cloud migrations or IT transformations.
* Experience architecting solutions on AWS.
