This is a beautifully structured, independent day nursery with excellent ratios and around forty children aged six months to five years. You’ll have full ownership of the kitchen and the freedom to deliver a fully organic menu that’s already thoughtfully planned.

What you’ll be getting stuck into as a Nursery Chef
Preparing a fully organic rotating menu including morning snack, lunch for 40 children and 20 staff, and afternoon snack
Managing the kitchen independently on a day-to-day basis
Maintaining exceptional hygiene standards in line with Food Standards Agency and Environmental Health guidance
Keeping all kitchen records and procedures fully compliant and up to date
Ordering kitchen supplies and liaising with the Nursery Manager on equipment needs
Ensuring all meals are prepared and served on time and meet dietary and cultural requirements
What you’ll bring to the table as a Nursery Chef
Previous experience preparing meals for large groups of children and/or adults
Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to complete training)
Food Allergen Awareness knowledge (training can be provided)
Experience maintaining kitchen compliance records and hygiene standards
Understanding of balanced nutrition for young children
Hours: 38 hours per week, 8:00am – 4:30pm
