Help us make a difference as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician based at our site in Brookhurst Wood, West Sussex, RH12 4QD.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday with 1 out of 4 Saturdays.
Week one: 06:45 - 14:45
Week two: 14:30 - 22:30
Role Overview
The Multi Skilled Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within the MBT facility.
Core Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated systems including conveyors, shredders, pumps, fans, and waste processing equipment.
* Diagnose faults in machinery and systems, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
* Carry out electrical installations and repairs, including control systems, motor circuits, switchgear, and PLC systems, ensuring safety compliance.
* Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors, bearings, and rotating machinery.
* Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability and reduce breakdowns.
* Follow site health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and perform maintenance safely.
* Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, fault findings, parts used, and schedules, updating supervisors regularly.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
Requirements
* Relevant backgrounds include: Maintenance Engineer, Multiskilled Engineer, Electrical or Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Electrician, Shift Engineer, or Maintenance Fitter.
* Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Industrial Electrical Maintenance Certificate of Competence.
* Hands-on experience with pumps, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, basic electrical engineering, compressors, motors, and gearboxes.
