Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food production and preparation meet our high standards of quality and safety. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cooking and eager to develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
* Support the cooking process by preparing sauces, garnishes, and other components as required.
* Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during service periods.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
* Supervise junior kitchen staff when necessary, providing guidance and support as needed.

SKILLS

* Experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within food production or preparation roles.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and hygiene.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when supervising others.
* Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration within the kitchen team.
* A passion for cooking and eagerness to learn new techniques in a fast-paced restaurant setting.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
