Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for creation, development and execution of digital and physical sculptural elements of assigned attractions, rides, shows and environmental design projects. Collaborates with the Creative Director, Art Director, Show Producer and project team to develop and direct creative design intent to meet project creative, business, technical, and operational objectives. Must have sculptural, creative, illustration ability and field production experience. Is responsible for bringing the Creative Directors vision to life through scale models, digital models, maquettes and artwork depicting the creative intent of sculptural elements of a project. Utilises various digital modeling, physical modeling and drawing tools ( ZBrush, Maya, ADOBE Graphics software, Rhino, Mudbox, Photoshop) to model, draw and create dimensional scale models and assets of various show elements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Creates powerful highly polished digital and physical sculpture that defines sculptural design elements through all phases of a project. This may be accomplished through many different methods, including, but not limited to; digital and physical sculpted models, IP driven character and set design, 3D printed models, composite imagery and image research documentation.
2. Develops and maintains the integrity of the envisioned design, working with design teams in maintaining a cohesive design in all elements associated with the project through various phases of project development. Coordinating with Design and Facility teams to integrate sculptural design elements including digital and physical rockwork models and digital and physical sculptural elements.
3. Responsible for providing conceptual creative design and development including communicating visual ideas through 3D Digital Models and rendering.
4. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
6. Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, design, 3D & 2D digital design, theatre, graphics or computer technology or other related field is preferred.
7. Experience in theme park design, theatre, film, architecture, gaming or other related industries.
8. Design experience for themed entertainment, theme parks, prop and model (including 3D), manufacturing or related industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
9. Must be a creative thinker and have strong technical ability with various design techniques/tools such as 3D modeling, physical modeling and carving, illustration, and/or others.
10. A good knowledge of fabrication, production and field installation is essential.
11. Must have strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
