Role Overview
We are seeking two Non‑Executive Directors for the SCAS board who will start in July. The role requires broad leadership, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and expertise in organisational change. Candidates need to challenge the executive team constructively, be politically astute, and embody the values of SCAS and the NHS. Diversity is sought, especially from under‑represented backgrounds within the NHS.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic oversight as a member of the SCAS board.
* Challenge the executive team constructively in a fast‑paced, pressurised environment.
* Support the organisation in delivering high‑quality care within budget and across the NHS network.
* Contribute to the strategic ambition of becoming a Care Navigator across the system.
Qualifications
* Strong financial skills and experience in a large, complex organisation.
* Experience in organisational change and development.
* Strategic thinker with knowledge of operating in a unitary board.
* Political astuteness, personal integrity and alignment with SCAS and NHS values.
* Under‑represented backgrounds encouraged.
