We have an exciting opportunity for a Calculation Tester to join our Testing Team in Darlington on a permanent basis. This role operates in a hybrid capacity that requires occasional travel to the office.

The role
evelop, maintain, enhance and fully test the pensions and benefit calculations software and calculation tools used by Railpen business areas. The role will play an essential part in providing assurance that the benefits being paid to members are accurate.
The Calculation Tester will join an expanding team that works to deliver changes to both enhance the system, and to also deliver the statutory changes that are needed. The role will also have the opportunity to work with various parts of the business including Pensions Technical, Operational and the Testing Teams, to understand the scope of planned changes and their associated risks, along with assessing the impact of change on the wider business. Other responsibilities include designing tests, ensuring the accuracy of the change, investigating issues, as well as raising those issues and providing clarification to suppliers, and also providing live assurance support.
The person
We are looking for someone with Defined Benefit pension experience, who has been responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of pension calculations. You will have the ability to collaborate closely with the Testing Team, Business Analysts, Technical teams and the wider business to understand requirements to ensure adequate test coverage, along with supporting implementation readiness.
You will need to have the skills to provide live calculation assurance support, checking and logging live cases referred to the calculations team. Previous Pension Administration experience would be desirable but isn’t essential.
