Dental Nurse

Are you a Registered Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council and hold a relevant Dental Nurse Qualification? We have opportunities for you to join us in this exciting time, based in central Manchester. You will provide close support for the Dentist by maintaining high standards of infection control. Confident, competent, self‑motivated and enthusiastic are all attributes required for these positions as well as the ability to work as part of the dental team. You need to be interested in ensuring quality dental services and must be able to communicate effectively with patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals and demonstrate very high standards. In return, we will provide you with a full induction and support you with a personal development plan and ongoing training when required. You will also benefit from being an employee for a large Trust and be made aware of upcoming projects and opportunities that may arise.


Main duties of the job

The postholder will ensure the best possible dental nursing care and practice is delivered to patients, including those with complex medical, physical and emotional needs. The postholder will provide close support to dentistry, maintaining high standards of patient care and infection control. The postholder will act as a positive role model within the department for all staff, patients and carers. The postholder will be expected to learn new skills in line with new practices, qualifications and modernization and will also have a commitment to continuing professional development. There is an expectation that the postholder will undertake post‑registration training in Conscious Sedation in addition to other post‑registration training courses relevant to their area of work.

Person Specification


Qualification

* Registered Dental Nurse Qualification (NVQ 3)
* Professional Registration with the GDC
* N.E.B.D.N.
* Post‑qualification Certificate in Oral Health, or Radiography qualification, or working towards one


Skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Clinically competent in clinical area/speciality.
* Willingness to be flexible and adaptable.
* Effective organisational skills.
* Awareness of Clinical Governance process.
* IT Skills.
* Evidence of multidisciplinary Team Working.
* Previous experience in the NHS.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£28,392 to £31,157 a year, per annum (pro rata).
