Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) is transforming the way they work to better respond to its rapidly changing external environment and to ensure future fit functions are aligned to key organisational priorities.

About the area

The Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division exists for the purpose of showcasing the best of UWA, ultimately enhancing reputation and driving student engagement and growth. The division consolidates all marketing, communications, engagement and event activity into one team, enabling strong connectivity and improved effectiveness.

The newly shaped Brand and Engagement function within BMR will operate as a strategic and creative hub, responsible for building a distinctive, authentic and trusted brand that connects with the community, future students and other key stakeholder groups. Through integrated brand planning, storytelling, partnerships and engagement, this team ensures the brand shows up consistently and meaningfully across all channel and experience.

Key areas of responsibility include:

* Brand strategy, planning and campaigns
* Content and social media management
* Creative services
* Central events

About the opportunity

* Develop and implement the University’s social media and content strategy aligned with overall brand and marketing goals, ensuring clarity on channel roles and strategic guardrails.
* Lead and inspire a high-performing social and content team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement, while building capability in social platforms and content production.
* Guide and collaborate with internal teams across the University (e.g., media, recruitment, research, schools, alumni) to ensure content initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities and delivered effectively across audiences.
* Provide content leadership and governance, establishing frameworks, processes and best practices to ensure high-quality outputs, brand consistency and effective risk management.

About you

* Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency in marketing, commerce, digital, or a related field.
* Proven success managing multi-platform social media and content initiatives within a complex organisation, with multiple diverse internal and external audiences.
* Deep expertise in content strategy development, focused on long-term impact, efficiency and building genuine audience engagement.
* Strong understanding of relevant marketing laws, regulatory requirements and risk management within the digital ecosystem.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build sustainable relationships across multiple stakeholders.

Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate will be required by the successful applicant.
